Cheesy Sausage Strata

DIRECTIONS

• 1 1/2 lb sausage, original
• 4 medium egg(s), beaten lightly
• 2 1/2 cup(s) half n half
• 1 tsp sage (dried)
• 6 slice (1/2 inch thick) white bread
• 2 cup(s) sharp cheddar cheese (low-fat), shredded
• 2 tbsp chives, chopped

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 baking dish.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook sausage until browned, about 7 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
3. Whisk together eggs, half-and-half and sage. Season with salt and pepper.
4. In baking dish, layer the bread. Top with sausage. Pour egg mixture over sausage and top with cheese.
5. Bake for 30 minutes or until strata is set. Garnish with chives.

Note: You can garnish with chopped parsley instead of chives.
